Remember that there are two basic accounts where the records can reside, in the public account and personal accounts. When you conduct a general dog search you are looking at ALL records. Use the appropriate buttons under either the Add / Modify YOUR records or PUBLIC records columns on the Directory Log In page.
If the record in the public account is yours, meaning you own the dog, owner, or breeder names. I would suggest transferring the record into your personal account. That can be done using the Transfer Buttons located on the bottom of the Directory Log In page.

Initially, all of the dog, owner and breeders records that were up loaded were put into the Public account. You can transfer ownership of these records by using the Transfer Ownership buttons located on the Directory Log In Page. The Transfer Ownership function will allow you to search for the record by name and will present any records that meet your search requirements. Click on the "Claim Ownership" button and the record will be transfered.
You can find out more about this by viewing the manual for the Directory. The manual can be read by clicking on the "View Manual" button on the Directory Log In page.

3. Why was the GRWeekly Directory Created?

A Golden Retriever Fancier today has a difficult time trying to find all of the vital information necessary to make sound decisions about their breeding programs and showing their dogs. Information is scattered over various web sites, paper publications and people's heads.
Karen Lindstrom, the creator of the GRWeekly, was known to be a great resource to ask questions of regarding the biography of a dog, breeder or handler. I cannot replace that wealth of information, but I can create a means for the Golden Retriever Fanciers to collect the information into a central repository.

4. What is the GRWeekly Directory?

The GRWeekly Directory actually consists of four directories: Dogs, Owners, Breeders and Handlers. In each directory, a "record" is created for each individual dog, owner, breeder and handler. Each record contains "fields" which contain a specific pieces of information.
Examples: Dogs Name, Owners Street Address, Breeders State, Etc.
The Golden Retriever Weekly Directory was created using a relational database (MySQL). Relational databases allow for linking common information to records without having to input the same information over and over again. In the case of the GRWeekly Directory, owners, breeders, and handlers can be linked to many dogs without having to type the same information in for each dog. Links are created by using one of the fields within each directory as a "Key". The key fields for each directory are:
Dog Directory: Dog's Registered Name
Owner Directory: Owner's Name
Breeder Directory: Breeder's Kennel Name
Handler Directory: Handler's Name
This means for the linking to be successful when entering the information into the fields must be exactly the same (spelling, spaces, punctuation, etc.)

5. What can I do with the GRWeekly Directory?

You can create records / web pages for each dog that you own, for you as the owner and one as a breeder, if you are one. If you are a professional dog handler, you can create a page for yourself.
Each record contains information about the dog, owner, breeder or handler. A full description is provided in the Directory Manual which you will find a link on the Directory Log In page.
Owner / breeder / handler records / web pages can be linked to as many dogs as appropriate. To get a better understanding of what you can do, go to the Dog Search Section and search for "Sandpoint Point Talisman". This web page shows all of the general capabilities / information that can be provided.

Initially, an upload of 75,000 dogs were taken from the OFA database. Each dog came with their registered name, registration number, coat color, birth date and their sire and dam information. The time frame for these dogs was from the late 1970s through 2002.
As time progresses users, like yourself, will add / modify the dog records. - Updated:
