Ariel was my heart dog. She was owner/handled to every win in both the U.S. and Canada. Possessing a real show girl attitude right from the beginning, Ariel is well-known for her phenomenal side gait. People may not recall my name, but always ask about her by name and remember her outstanding movement, as well as recall the shows she won at!
Although Ariel was only bred once, she and Am. Can. Ch. Pacificgold's The Dance ("Brooks") produced an outstanding litter together. Although all six of them could have been shown, three were and still are exceptional representatives of the breed and have done extremely well in the show ring: BISS Am. Can. Ch. Hallmark's The Dance Goes On, SDHF ptd. ("Garth"), who was ranked in the AKC's top 20 during 2006, was invited to and attended the 2006 AKC Eukanuba National Championship Dog Show in Long Beach, CA and was a 2007 qualifier for the GRCA Top 20 Competition, Can. Ch. Hallmark's Born to Dance, (ptd.) ("Charisse") and Can. Ch. Hallmark's Dancing on Air ("Melody"). Ariel's daughter, Charisse, produced Canadian champion and Best Puppy in Show winner, Hallmark's Tour of Duty ("Boomer") sired by Am/Can Ch. Pacificgold's Bavarian Cobbler ("Trevor"), bred and owned by Carol Morrison. Charisse also has some outstanding up and coming stars sired by BISS Ch. Clarkcreek Force of Nature ("Hugo"), bred and owned by Melissa and Stephen Johnston: Can. Ch. Hallmark's Classical Rhythm, BISS, BOSS (12 pts./both majors) - "Bolero"; and Can. Ch. Hallmark She's Got Rhythm, BISS (major ptd.) - "Arianne", who strikingly resembles her grandma, Ariel, both in looks, movement and personality. In addition, since showing in BBE for only the last few months, both Arianne and Bolero have consistently won, placed or received reserve winners from BBE. A repeat breeding of Hugo and Charisse produced "Soccer" (Hallmark Life's A Kick) and "Rockette" (Hallmark's Kick It Up) who at 8 weeks show potential to be equally as impressive as their older siblings. Watch for them to hit the rings spring, 2009.
It was with extremely heavy heart that my husband, Bob, and I lost our dear Ariel on February 23, 2007. Although a tragic victim of hemangiosarcoma, Ariel crossed the Bridge with dignity with both Bob and I by her side at the young age of only 8-1/2 years. She will always have that special place in our hearts and although we miss her more than anything in the world, I will always be thankful for having the opportunity to be Ariel's partner in the ring and for having her in my life. She was and always will be my once in a lifetime dog. I will always love you, Ariel, my little mermaid! May you find peace and continued happiness at the Rainbow Bridge until one day we are together again...
