Description: My Beautiful Bello came to live with me on November 2, 2002. I adopted him through the Golden Retriever Rescue of British Columbia. He was thought to be about one year old or so at that time. Bello went to Rainbow Bridge on November 22, 2011. He not only filled the holes in my life, but made my life whole. Bello it's hard to imagine life without you, but I hope and pray we will all be together again, you by my side with all our loved ones for eternity.

Beautiful Bello - Please pray for my special boy

Description: I just got heart breaking news on September 13, 2011 that Bello has malignant melanoma of the hard palat near the back of his throat. He normally never has 'doggy breath' and the vets always comment on how wonderful his teeth and gums are. Well, one night I noticed an 'off' doggy breath and opened his mouth wide, much to my horror seeing about a 2 cm oval/circle smoothed out area with a black nub about the size of a pencil eraser. I brought him at midnight to the Animal ER and they did tests, x-rays and aspirate of the area. Just from looking at it, we knew it didn't look good. The results show malignant melanoma and he has been given a prognosis of about 8 months. This is inoperable (would have to remove the roof of his mouth) and because he has immune mediated polyarthritis as a result of having an adverse reaction to heartworm prevention medication (rendered his immune system so that cannot have vaccines, etc) and who knows what other damage the preventative med did to his system, he could never tolerate any radiation or chemo because he has a severely compromised immune system. So, I am praying he outlives his prognosis and is not in pain, uncomfortable, enjoying life, food, walkies, his toys, cuddles, and being brushed. He is all I have and I am praying that he can be with me on this earth for a long time before the gates of Rainbow Bridge open for him. I love him so much, it hurts, but I don't let him see my pain. I already spoil him, but he gets pretty much what he wants now, as many treats, as many rolls on the grass (I used to worry about any bugs getting on him) and let him direct me on our walks and where he wants to go. So, if you pray, please pray for Bello and all the other beautiful animals on this earth who makes our lives fulfilled and whole. I'll pray too for Bello and all those furbabies in need. I know we will one day be all together, but just the thought of not having him by my side at some point is almost more than I can bear. God, please keep Bello in Your Heavenly care forevermore here and at Rainbow Bridge, so I may join my loved ones and furbabies and be filled with peace and love for all eternity. I love you my precious Bello, more than words could every say.
