"Lilly"
Lilly was bred by my family and born September 26, 2011. Lilly's mom Maggie went into labor while we weren't home. When we arrived home she
had had the first puppy with Austin (the father) and quickly went back out of labor. At five in the morning, and still no contractions, we
drove over an hour to a vet emergency room. At arrival we were told that they would be closing at eight and so would do the c-section and
then would be leaving. Concerned about Maggie and the pups would not receive the proper care needed, we called our vet's cell phone who said he could head into the office early and do the c-section. The vet at the emergency room said that Maggie did not seem to be in distress and that the remaining pups were probably dead already. An extra hour wouldn't make a difference. We drove to our vet who was able to perform the c-section. Two of the pups survived (plus the one already born), two more puppies did not survive. Lilly was one of the puppies who was delivered via c-section and survived to be one of the best dogs we have bred. Maggie is doing well, as well as the three surviving puppies. Lilly now is owned by a vet and spends most of her days at the office.
